Malaysia’s first annual Autoshow started in the year 2010 when it was held in the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre.
This year, the Autoshow will be held at MAEPS, Serdang, which is the largest showground in Malaysia.
Last year, the Autoshow attracted a total of 85,000 visitors, achieving significant industry milestones including the launch of Malaysia’s first electric bus, the first locally produced caravan, the Sultan of Selangor’s Classic Car collection, and numerous new models from various OEMs.
The annual Autoshow started the trend in Malaysia of being an autoshow that encouraged sales.
In 2015, approximately 1,000 new car bookings were secured, with a total sales value of RM53.9 million.
The event was named the ASEAN Autoshow in 2015, in conjunction with Malaysia’s role as the Chair of the ASEAN Secretariat.
Last year, the event was inaugurated as the Malaysia Autoshow 2016 to position Malaysia as a platform to be a regional Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) hub and to champion the cause of sustainable mobility in Malaysia.

2. Capacity building in the Malaysian automotive sector by promoting Malaysian entrepreneurs and their products/services in the automotive sector
